Wellesley Youth Lacrosse Club

WYLC is always in need of parent volunteers.  We can use your help on or off the field.  If you've never even seen a lacrosse game, or if you're a former star player, we need you!

We offer several levels of training for coaches over the winter and early spring, that cover everything from the basics of holding a stick, catching and throwing (for new coaches) to  the finer points of offensive and defensive strategy (for more experienced coaches.)  We even need parents who just want to come to practice and play a small role such as manning a "station drill", for which no training is necessary.  If your schedule allows you to be on a field during our late afternoon practice times this spring, we can find a role for you.

COACH:  Assumes primary responsibility for coaching a team during games, and helps run weekday practices.

ASSISTANT COACH:  Helps the head coach at games and helps at weekday practices.

TEAM MANAGER:  Helps the coaches communicate with team members, and brings game and score/time-keeper supplies to games.

JAMBOREE HELPER:  The Jamboree is  our end-of-the-season tournament.  It is usually held mid-June and is always a fun day of lacrosse: we play three to four shorter games against other towns; lots of food, drink, and lacrosse gear for sale; and the emphasis is on FUN!  We need all kinds of help preparing for and running this event.  Let us know if you're interested.

OTHER:  We have other events (e.g. Apparel Day) where we may need volunteers.  Can we call you?
